    The Capital Improvement Department is responsible for the development of the programs, schedules and budgets for all of the building projects that are in the City’s comprehensive development plan.

    The mission of the Department of Community Development is to utilize the grant funds it receives from Federal, State and Local government sources to aid in the development of viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate income.

    This department primarily serves as a convenient, one-stop shop to handle virtually all your construction/development needs in the City of Miami Gardens.

  5. Events & Media

    The Events and Media Department provides ongoing, creative and comprehensive communications services to our internal and external customers about all aspects of City business, initiatives and activities.

  6. Finance

    The Finance Department is responsible for accounts payable, payroll, cash receipts, grants reimbursements, budgeting, cash management, and debt management of the City.

  7. Human Resources

    This department processes all employee-related needs, including: recruitment, discipline, promotion, training, benefits administration and retirement.

  8. Information Technology

    We provide excellent technical support for the city and police department staff in an effective and efficient manner.

  9. Parks & Recreation

    The City of Miami Gardens Parks & Recreation Department will provide safe, inclusive, environmentally friendly parks, trails and recreation facilities.

  10. Planning & Zoning

    The Planning and Zoning Division handles the City of Miami Gardens’ short and long term planning needs, including site plan, plat and zoning reviews for proposed residential and commercial development and redevelopment projects in the city.

  11. Police Department

    The Miami Gardens Police Department is the lead law enforcement agency for the 110,000 residents living within the City's 20 square miles.

  12. Public Works

    The Public Works Department (PWD) is responsible for the maintenance of public property within the City’s limit.
