City University Partnership
The Miami Gardens City University Partnership program provides diverse educational opportunities to the residents of Miami Gardens. Through its partnerships with institutions such as Miami Dade College, Florida Memorial University, and St. Thomas University, the movement offers training programs designed to upskill and enhance resident's gainful advancement. The Miami Gardens City University Partnership is dedicated to empowering individuals to achieve their educational and career aspirations.

Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is mandatory for enrollment in ALL programs and courses.
Spring 2026
Business Specialist - 12 college credits Dual Enrollment Eligible
The Business Specialist college credit certificate is designed to prepare students for employment in the following entry-level positions:
- Accounting / Budgeting
- Business Management
- Finance
- Human Resources
- International Business
- Marketing
(New) Building Construction Specialist - 18 college credits
The Building Construction Specialist college credit certificate prepares students for entry in the construction field through acquisition of a basic understanding of drawings and construction estimating.
(New) Commercial Class B Driving - 5 college credits / 150 hours
The Career Technical Certificate is designed to educate and prepare students for entry into the trucking and logistics industry.
Prerequisites:
- Age: 18 years old for intrastate (within Florida) operation, 21 years old for interstate (across state lines).
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Clean Driving Record
- Vision, Hearing, and Medical Exams: You'll need to pass vision and hearing tests, as well as a medical exam administered by a certified medical examiner.
- DOT Physical: A Department of Transportation (DOT) physical is required.
- DOT Drug Test: Successfully pass a drug test as part of the DOT requirements,
- Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP): You must obtain a CLP before course enrollment.
Homeland Security - 15 college credits Dual Enrollment Eligible
The Homeland Security Certificate program prepares students with the skills and credentials they need to enter fields specializing in Homeland Security. Students receive extended education in domestic and international terrorism, cyber-terrorism, and advance crime.
(New) Phlebotomy Technician - 5.5 Vocational Credits / 165 Contact Hours.
The Phlebotomy Technician program is designed to prepare students for employment in a hospital laboratory, blood center, or other health care facility to draw blood by venipuncture and capillary puncture. 16-week training program.
Must be 18 years old and have earned or will earn at the time of enrollment into the program, a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma (GED).
(New) Teacher Assistant - Preapprentice
Earn while you learn! The Teacher Assistant Preapprenticeship program combines hands-on classroom experience with college credit courses that fast-track you into a meaningful and exciting career in education. Program open to ages 18-24.

Soft Skills Training - Online
Online career-contextualized training that develops the foundational skills required by most jobs, across industries. Soft Skills Training teaches employability and social skills in a career context. Residents who successfully complete the training courseware receive a badge and Certificate of Completion.

- The Parenting Program identifies the needs of children, youth and families by harnessing the influence of Parents , focusing on preventation as a crucial elements in children's success.
- Synergy Service Partnership organizes the work of 25 community-based and government agencies. To provide support wrap-around services within a Holistic System of Care.
- Youth After School - YAS Program provides academic support to students, and participants gain valuable insights into healthy eating and fitness, financial literacy, STEM.
Greater Miami Aviation Association (GMAA)
- GMAA-Batchelor Aviation Scholarship fund awards yearly scholarships to South Florida college students pursuing aviation careers. Scholarships are based on academic and aviation achievements, leadership, and financial need.
Miami Dade College
- American Dream an MDC award that covers the in-state portion of tuition for two years of courses for all Miami Dade high school graduates who qualify.
- FAST Track Sharks get an early start to your college education by enrolling in the summer term following high school graduation. You can earn up to 6 credits at no cost!
- Future Ready Miami Dade College’s Future Ready Miami-Dade Scholarship ensures all Miami-Dade County residents can complete an associate degree at Miami Dade College at zero cost.
- Open Door Grant Program can cover residents tuition balance, exams fees, books, and uniforms for eligible Workforce programs at Miami Dade College.
United Way
- Center for Financial Stability supports residents with their most pressing financial challenges by providing a full menu of financial capability services, ranging from financial coaching and education to tax preparation.
