Officers can be hired to work various security jobs and traffic control. All requests must be submitted and approved by the off duty coordinator.

No. Miami Gardens Police Officers will not take part in setting the rate, any contracts, or billing. Anything to do with money/payment is organized between you (business/citizen) and the City of Miami Gardens Police Department Off-Duty Coordinator.

To start the process you will need to provide the following information to the Off-Duty Coordinator:
- Vendor Name
- Location of Event
- Contact Person and Number
- Billing Address and Number
- Detail Information (date, time and location, and services)
- Type of Service Requested (Traffic, Security, etc.)
- Establishment License Number, if applicable
- Establishment Liquor Number, if applicable
- Liquor License Holder Information (name, date of birth), if applicable
- Person requesting permit information (name, date of birth, address number of patrons and phone number), if applicable
- A photocopy of the Identification card or Driver’s License of person requesting permit must be obtained with application, if applicable
- Certificate of Insurance, if applicable
