Please join us in welcoming our new aquatics management team, Jeff Ellis Management. We join a group of distinct pools under Ellis management, including Disney pools, Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas, and numerous cities including Tamarac, Hallandale, and Dania.

Open Swim

The Norwood, Myrtle Grove (summer only) and Brentwood aquatic facilities are open for public swim from 1:00 - 4:45 p.m. daily. The fee for public swim at all facilities is $1 per person.

Water Aerobics- Brentwood Pool

The water aerobics program is intended to improve flexibility, overall aerobic fitness, coordination, muscle strength as well as cardiovascular endurance.

Tuesday, Thursday 6:30 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.

Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.

Fee: $30 per month Swim Club Brentwood Pool announces a new swim technique class. This class is for all students interested in participating in a future swim team at Brentwood Pool.

Swim Lessons

Preschool + Parent 3 – 5 years old
This class is designed for Preschool age children and their parents. Students will work on the basic fundamentals of swimming such as blowing bubbles, front and back floats, kicking, arm movements, and basic pool safety.

(ALSO OFFERED WITHOUT PARENT)

Beginner 5 – 7 years old
This class is for the beginner swimmer and requires no prior experience. Skills taught in this level include front and back floats, front and back glides, elementary backstroke, front crawl, backstroke, and pool safety. Some of the requirements to pass this level are that the student must swim 25 yards of front crawl, backstroke, and elementary backstroke.

Advanced Beginner 6 – 8 years old
This class is designed for students who have successfully completed the Beginner level. This level will build on the fundamental skills learned in the Beginner class. Some of the skills that will be worked on are rhythmic breathing with the front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, and an introduction to the sidestroke. Some of the requirements to complete this level are the student must swim 25 yards front crawl with rhythmic breathing and breaststroke and 50 yards of elementary backstroke and backstroke.

Intermediate 7 – 9 years old
This class is for students who have completed the Advanced Beginner level. In this level children will continue to works towards mastering the front crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, and backstroke while being introduced to the butterfly and treading water. In order to complete this level the student must swim 50 yards of front crawl with rhythmic breathing, breaststroke, and sidestroke, 75 yards of elementary backstroke and backstroke, and 25 yards of butterfly.

Advanced 8 – 10 years old
This class is for the advanced swimmer who has completed the Intermediate level. Students will continue to work on technique and endurance for front crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, butterfly, backstroke, and elementary backstroke. To complete this level the student must swim 100 yards of front crawl with rhythmic breathing, backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, elementary backstroke, and 50 yards of butterfly.

Pool Rentals

The aquatic facilities are available for private rentals on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Rentals are on a first come, first served basis. All fees must be paid at the Parks and Recreation Department Administrative office ten (10) business days prior to rental.

Now Hiring lifeguards for summer

Age: 15 and up

Starting pay: $8.00

Requirements: Must be able to pass 100 yard continuous swim, Tread water with no hands for 1 minute and retrieve 10 lb. brick from 10 feet of water.

Job Description: Lifeguards will be responsible for providing guest safety through monitoring swimmers and providing rescue care if needed. Positions requires lifeguard to work in outdoor environment. Lifeguard responsible for helping staff maintain cleanliness of facility. Lifeguards provide excellent customer service.

Scheduling: Lifeguards can be scheduled anytime between 7:30 am – 7 pm, 7 days a week. Lifeguards are typically scheduled between 20 – 40 hours per week. Lifeguards may be asked to work special events which could go until 10 pm.

Uniforms: Included in the cost of training! Uniform kit includes: Hat, shirt, shorts, lanyard and whistle, sweatshirt.

Training: Must possess Jeff Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training. Cost: $150; can be payroll deducted if hired by Jeff Ellis Management. Training provided at facility.
