Bio of Councilman André Williams, Seat 3
André L. Williams is a real estate attorney and has practiced law in South Florida since 1993. He has a full-service real estate law firm that represents real estate developers, businesses and non-profit organizations. He was previously employed at Holland and Knight LLP in their corporate law department.
André L. was elected Councilman in the City of Miami Gardens, FL in 2006. Miami Gardens is the largest predominantly African American city in Florida with a population of over 110,000 and the third largest city in Miami- Dade County. He is a hometown guy – returning to the community where he grew up after his graduation from law school.
André has been featured in an ongoing series of articles in TIME magazine for leading the City of Miami Garden’s extraordinary efforts to help its residents through the foreclosure crisis. This work has also been featured in the Huffington Post, NPR and the the Miami Herald.
He is also the principal of Pendragon Investment Group, Inc., a real estate investment and management company that oversees a residential and commercial real estate and business portfolio with over a million dollars in assets. He owns a Liberty Tax franchise in Miami Gardens, FL with 20 employees which provides accurate and affordable income tax preparation of your complex returns.
André received the South Florida Business Journal’s Up and Comers Award (Finalist) for 2006. He was also featured as a “Leader 2000” by the Daily Business Review and participated in a Kellogg Foundation-sponsored fellowship in 2001, the Miami Fellows Initiative, which develops emerging leaders in Miami-Dade County. André appeared as South Florida's Most Influential in Who's Who in Black South Florida's Inaugural Edition. He has been featured in Success South Florida magazines "40 under 40" edition profiling South Florida's most influential African American professionals.He is a member of Mt. Hermon AME Church in Miami Gardens – the church that he grew up in and has known his entire life. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
André received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and American Literature from Harvard University and his law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law. He is a 1985 Graduate of Ransom Everglades Upper School.
