Council Members are elected by the voters to serve on the City Council. Four are elected from their geographic districts and two are elected Citywide. Bio of Councilmember Melvin L. Bratton, Seat 4

Mr. Bratton graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High and attended Miami-Dade College to study criminal justice. He served in the U.S. Army 1963-1965 and as reservist 1965-1993. His was elected to North West Miami Dade Community Council in 1996 and re-elected in 2000. He helped create homeowners' associations in the Leslie Estates neighborhood. He has worked for the US Postal Service for the past 33 years.
