Current Planning (Zoning)
Current planning and zoning activities involve development review of proposed
projects, implementation of land use plans and polices and public zoning inquires.
The Planning and Zoning Department reviews all land use applications and formulates
staff recommendations addressing applications including but not limited to Administrative
Site Plan; Plat of Subdivision Development; Administrative Adjustment; Substantial
Compliance; Entrance Feature; Variances and Zoning Changes. The City staff ensures
that activities relating to land use and zoning comply with the Zoning Code and
the Comprehensive Development Master Plan (CDMP) policies. Planning and Zoning staff
works closely with City residents, business owners and developers on a wide range
of development proposals and answers questions about property zoning and the possible
subdivision of property.
All public hearing applications are heard by the Mayor and City Council at a public
hearing and make the final decision regarding all applications.
