Councilmember
Council Members are elected by the voters to serve on the City Council.
Four are elected from their geographic districts and two are elected Citywide. Council
Members participate as equal members of the Council, in deliberating City business
and setting policy.

Bio
of Councilmember Sharon Pritchett, Seat 5
Ms. Pritchett is the Chief Investigator in the Law Offices
of Bennett H. Brummer, Miami-Dade County’s Public Defender. She was elected to the
City of Miami Gardens’ City Council, Seat 5 (citywide), in June 2003.
Prior to being elected to the Council, she served on the North Dade Community Council
3 (included being elected one term as the chairperson and one term as the co-chairperson).
In addition, Ms. Pritchett is a member of Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated ~ Alpha
Gamma Chapter (a service-oriented organization), where she serves as the Southeastern
Regional Director.
She remains committed to community service through a multiplicity of other civic,
political and community organizations, where she maintains active memberships.
Councilmember Pritchett is a strong, consistent advocate, who seeks
to “empower” residents, business owners, and others with information relative to
ensuring Miami Gardens is a City “of the people, by the people, and for the people.”
